Ceramic catalysts

The core of this catalytic converter is a ceramic monolith. It is a honeycomb structure with fine channels through which the exhaust gases flow.

The entire honeycomb is completely covered with a thin layer of alumina. The contact surface is then coated with precious metals: platinum and rhodium or palladium and rhodium, which reduce exhaust pollutants.
